Body Stress Release - in a Nutshell

Our bodies have an in built ability to self heal and recover from stresses placed on it. When the stress overrides our body's ability to self heal is when the stress is locked in and manifests as stiffness, pins and needles, headaches, legs cramps or even numbness in fingers etc. We test for areas of locked in stress using the body as a bio feedback monitor (basically like the doctor would knock on knee to test reflex). The BSR Technique is designed to help the body release its stored tensions. With the person fully clothed and lying down, the practitioner carries out a series of tests to locate the exact sites of body stress, and determines the precise directions in which the lines of tension exist.

Effects of Body Stress

The dictionary defines stress as a force, pressure, tension or constraining influence. It should be noted that not all stress is harmful. We require a certain level of stress in our lives to promote growth and development through repeated positive adaptations. For example, Olympic athletes have to continually push themselves, putting their bodies under a certain level of stress, in order to perfect their technique and reach their full potential.

How is the body stress released?

The practitioner applies a light but definite pressure in the precise direction required which allows the body to restore muscle tone and return to its natural ability to heal and maintain itself. BSR is a gentle technique which does not require any force to be effective.
